On a scale of red to green, green being awesome, my project is a hot green awesome mess! Woo hoo!! This was my first Photoshop project and I was really nervous going into it. I collected so much food and some of it was really hard to select, but I got the hang of the selection tools and got really good about using my magnetic lasso after selecting the noodles and the ginger root.
My favorite thing about my FFT Project was that it required me to think outside the box. Trying to figure out foods that were the right shape and color was challenging. But, in the end, it turned out fabulous. My squid thing is pretty cool and was intricate with many pieces/layers.
My weakest element was probably the background. I used icing off cake and it doesn't look real "aquarium water" like, but it's not bad. I did recolor the tops of pineapples using the color overlay with a blend mode because it wasn't colorful enough initially.
This was a review of selection tools, so I used many of them. I found the quick selection tool to be my go to tool most of the time. I feel much more comfortable selecting objects now, however, I do struggle with selection things with fibers and hair.
I learned that I am more creative than I thought and that Photoshop isn't all that complicated as long as you are careful, zoom up closely and refine edge to ensure selections are perfect.
